Well Gee, Brandon. Um.........thank you?
It's nice that other people's kids are still interested, but you might want to know that I'm old enough to be your mother - that picture was taken 3 years ago when I was only 53. My skin care regime must be working. Sweet.

wow - you got here from my other site, Garret. RHS1 is my rock and gem site. So - I'm thinking that you got here from a link in the Gazette?

No matter - viewers of this site will be confused by this answer - but, you'll "get" it.

I went in from the SE. It was the only way. You can go in from the N.E. around the powerlines, but the road will only take you so far and you will have to walk to the rim - not sure how far that hike is, it was too hot to find out when I was there. It could have been just over the ridge of hills or miles. I didn't see a way down from the other side to make me want to find out.

As it sits - I didn't find a way down into the canyon from where I was. I had a pretty good view of most of it and a way down just isn't easily apparent. It's a tough one. If you have the resources to get a helicopter, that's probably the easiest way in. Don't even bother to the West - it's cut off with private property. A lot private on the Dead West as well. I was disappointed with the area actually. So much has gone to private land that it's hard to find anywhere to set foot that wouldn't be highly trafficked already. If I ever get back that way, I might have better news on that one.

OH - I didn't LEAVE my camera in the canyon - it fell in and I didn't have a means to retrieve it. LOL.

I saw your comment about leaving your camera in the bottom of Petrified Canyon. I would like to visit there this summer, but yours is the first mention I've ever seen about it. Did you drive in from the South? Is the best collecting to the west?
